
Sarah Houk is a singer/songwriter and music teacher located in South Central Kentucky.
She has been teaching/coaching students for over 10 years with her unique approach.
She believes in teaching students what they want to learn in a healthy way.
She enjoys teaching voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele. She has also worked with
students on songwriting.
Her unique life experiences make her a caring and compassionate instructor who
really shines while teaching students to love themselves and music—one note at a time.
Sarah teaches her students in Bowling Green, KY. She even teaches some students on Zoom.
Her student roster includes over 40 amazing students of all ages. She even teaches
preschoolers in her music and movement class called Groovy Kids.
Growing up near Nashville, TN, Sarah developed a love for country music but also studied
classical music while attending college. Her late grandmother was her biggest musical
influence helping her learn to play the piano by ear and also becoming her biggest fan.
As a musician, Sarah has performed all across Kentucky at The Grove,
The Club at Olde Stone, Kentucky Grand Hotel, Lost River Pizza, The Dive, 440 Main,
National Corvette Museum, and Hopkinsville Brewery.
One of the highlights of her career was being asked to perform her original music at
Belcourt Taps in Nashville, TN. She has also sung The National Anthem for the
prestigious Kentucky Super Preps Award Ceremony. Another exciting career highlight
would be finding one of her YouTube shorts that received over 20,000 views.
In 2019, she released her debut single “The Way You Looked.” It is available on
iTunes/Apple Music/and Spotify.
In 2023 she released her newest single, "Pain Chaser". Both songs are available on all streaming platforms.
Sarah received her BS in Music with a vocal emphasis from Austin Peay State University
and her Master of Arts in Teaching Music P-12 from University of the Cumberlands.
She is currently working on an online video course and a new single.
